I think I actually put this gem up on Facebook about a year ago, but it’s just too good to not re-post a second time. This is actually part of a collection called “The Little Folks of Animal Land.” It is over 100 pages full of images such as this.
The astute observer will recognize something slightly disturbing about this- cats are not generally known for their willingness to be dressed up. Ergo, the logical, albeit distressing conclusion is that the cats in this photo (as well as the rest of the animals in the rest of the book) are not alive. I suspect some taxidermist had a very busy stretch preparing the “models” for this publication.
It’s entirely possible the cats were never actually cats, but are just wonderfully realistic mannequins. However, that wouldn’t be as interesting, now would it?
